Social Media

Your voice can make a difference- spread the word about the importance of eating disorder awareness through social media outlets.

We’re all affected by eating disorders and we can all do just one thing to raise awareness.  Posting short messages about eating disorders, the NEDA Helpline number, or the NEDA website can make a difference.  Last year we reached over 18 million people through social media… and 2013 has been an even more successful year because we all took part.  Here are some suggestions as to how you can continue to participate via Social Media:

- Post some facts about how prevalent eating disorders really are, and how important it is that they are recognized as serious illnesses

- Tag your friends and NEDA on Twitter (#NEDAwareness)  and Facebook  with positive body-acceptance messages to spread words of positivity and self-appreciation

- Give a shout to celebrities, sharing the importance of eating disorders and how they can be a part of changing media influences

- Repost NEDA’s messages and send to your friends, family, colleagues, and anyone else you believe will benefit from this information
